Ooh, I like this explanation of the end of Percy and Penelope! I also liked Percy's cluelessness re: Umbridge. I can buy that what he saw of her at the Ministry was probably completely different from the reality of what was happening at Hogwarts. This way, it gives him a bit of an excuse for supporting her.
I'm finding the parallels between Percy and Audrey and their lives pretty fascinating--they seem entwined, even though they didn't know each other at the time.
BTW, if you want to edit your post, it's not too hard. Up at the top of the post, you should see a bunch of little icons--one is a red pencil (at least it is on my journal). Click that, and it'll let you go in and make corrections. Then click the "Save Entry" button and ta-da! Corrected post. :)
