Ginny awoke hearing screaming. Groggily, she grabbed her wand and sprinted to Lily’s room.

“What’s wrong!?”

“There’s a monster in my closet!”

Ginny lowered her wand and sat on Lily’s bed, hugging her tearful daughter. “Sweetie, you just had a nightmare. There’s no monster.”

“Yes there is! I think it’s a chimera like last time. Daddy fights monsters and wins cuz he ‘feated Valdymart and’s Bestest Daddy Ever! You’re not brave like Daddy, or you’d ‘feat monsters, too! I WANT DADDY!!”

Of course, Harry was on an Auror mission. Ginny sighed and carried her crying daughter to sleep with her.

Ginny clutched Harry’s hand and listened half-heartedly as various friends and family shared their memories of Fred. Nobody shared a story she hadn’t heard from the twins. She thought Fred would appreciate the funny stories. It was impossible to share memories of Fred and not laugh.

When it was George’s turn, he smiled, joked, and had everyone laughing hysterically. But Ginny was in the front row and saw his eyes. The twinkling light which always shone behind George’s eyes had gone out. He was broken, and Ginny didn’t know if George, or any of them, would ever be repaired again.

“May I help you?”

Harry opened and closed his mouth, but nothing happened. Hermione nudged him.

“Um . . .Errr … Engagement ring?” Harry croaked.

“Oh! How nice for both of you!”

Hermione laughed, and Harry spluttered, “She’s my sister!”

Hermione smiled, “I’m just here to help.”

“Of course. Our rings are over here.”

When Harry saw the variety of rings, he began to hyperventilate.

Hermione grasped him by both arms, “Breathe, Harry!”

Harry’s breathing gradually slowed, and he calmed enough to select a ring.

Leaving the shop, Harry asked, “Any suggestions about the proposal?”

“Just don’t forget to breathe.”

Ginevra Molly Weasley, will you make me the happiest wizard in the world by doing me the great honor of becoming my wife? Too . . . too . . . too much like Percy. Anyway, Ginny would probably slap him if he ever called her Ginevra. Not the reaction he wanted.


“Harry? Where are you?”

“In here, Ginny.” Harry’s voice cracked.
